Bought on Saturday with free shipping and its here already! Set-up took less than 10 minutes total, including signing up for an account on the app and fiddling with the settings in it. No problem connecting to my wifi, no problems with image quality yet but I’ll check it again tonight to see if that changes. There’s about a 1-2 second delay on the live feed but for under $60 there’s no way I’m complaining. FOV seems good, and depth of view is good too. Will have to try going somewhere in the city and checking the camera later this week to see if it holds up as a security camera like I intend it to be.
UPDATE- Night mode is amazing and I figured out how to access the full camera view plus options so I tried out the sound and wow... it picks up everything in the living room and kitchen (including my “quiet” aquarium filter lol). I’m still not sure how to turn motion capture alerts on, or if I’m even going to given that my cat wanders around while I’m gone, but this is 100% worth your money if you’re looking for a cheap yet reliable security camera.
I have used D-Link cameras for years, with great success. But this camera was a severe disappointment. First, the advertisements claim that it can continuously record to a SD card. It can not. It can only respond to motion events. To make matters worse, this camera does not recognize motion events properly. If a cloud blocks the sun changing overall light levels, that will trigger an event. But if a person walks right in front of the camera, that does NOT trigger motion. Tried all motion sensitivity settings, but to no avail. D-Link technical support was no help. There is no direct web interface to this camera where an experienced user can setup useful options. There is just a lame, confusing phone app to control it. On the plus side, the real time viewing works good with good image quality. But the recording features are unusable.
Pretty disappointed with this entry from D-link cameras. I have been mostly happy with previous D-link cameras. Supposed to with with Alexa echo show. When I asked to show camera it buffers and buffers and buffers. I have to unplug echo show and plug back in then it work that time. Later same thing buffers etc. Does not work with previous d-link apps. Bought sad card to record and won’t format and therefore is useless to record( almost makes me think d-link is forcing me to subscribe to their cloud recording service which I will never do Cannot get it to come online to my IP CAM SOFT to watch on my Apple TV as i can on my other d-link cameras. Will not come online to Ispy on my laptop like my other d-link cameras So pretty much useless to me
I have three of these cameras and am happy with them. I replaced an older D-link with this camera in my window facing the front walk. It will not work placed close to the glass. The glass causes it to go into setup mode as if the cover is on the lens. Once I moved it away from the glass it functioned fine. I had to go back to my old D-link camera in this application.
I bought this camera to replace an older DCS933L camera. I have several Dlink cameras and the DLink DNR-312L (Network Video Recorder). This camera has a nice wide-angle picture, but it doesn't work with the DNR-312L because you can't set its IP address. You need to tell the DNR-312L the IP address of all the cameras that you want to store video of. The older DlInk cameras that I have (DCS933s) let you login to a web interface and set their IP address along with a lot of other settings. This camera can only be accessed through the DLInk App to configure its settings and video can only be stored on the DLink cloud. Because of this I only get one day of storage on the DLink cloud (because I don't want to pay for cloud storage since I already have my own video storage). So, it you are ok with only storing video on the DLink cloud (which you have to pay for if more than one day), then this camera might be good for you. The App does have a nice interface for viewing the camera remotely.
Bought this because I had an earlier Dlink camera. This worked well for a few days then began to go offline frequently. Eventually, it just stopped working. Trying to get technical support from Dlink and the number provided was useless. Returned it to Amazon. Don't waste your money on this product.
I already own a few D-Link cameras and always come back for more. They are so easy to install and configure. This camera has a great picture quality and a 120-degree wide angle lens perfect for easily monitoring and entire room. Integrates easily with the Mydlink App. Haven't tried yet with Google Assitant, but as soon as I do I'll add it to my review.
