Over the years, my son put his body weight on his closet's drawers and one of the rails was getting bent enough that it was getting stuck. I needed 21" rails, but 1) they seem to be harder to find and 2) they are notably more expensive than the 19 3/4" that I bought from Amazon. I figured the difference of 1 1/4" won't matter and I was right! As long as you align the rails to the front of the drawer, it will work just fine. No, the shorter rails won't open as wide, but 1 1/4" is hardly noticeable, especially given how wide the drawer already opens. The quality isn't amazing, but these things never are. I hope my son will be able to use his closet for a few more years and for that, the purchase was totally worth it.
Some tips and why it's "only" 4 stars 1) As noted above, do your research and get the length that is both economical and workable in your situation. You don't have to get the exact length. 2) If you buy a shorter or longer rail, just make sure to butt it against the front of the drawer. 3) (Main reason for 4) This item came with screws, but they were small/short, in my opinion. In my case the drawer is rather big and I didn't feel confident that the small screws would be strong enough to hold the weight of the drawer and the clothes. Fortunately, I already had just the right/longer screws so I used them instead. Worked great.
I built a cabinet for our printer and used these for the drawer. Install is easy, and it's nice that the drawer can be taken out by simply lifting after you pull it all the way out. But these glides don't make a sturdy impression, I'm unimpressed. ( The screws that came with it - well, quality control for those is non-existent, but I consider that kind of thing a bonus ).
Used these on a built in dressing table in our bathroom. Would have gotten five stars except they have absolutely no instructions. I've used drawer slides that looked identical to these so already knew how much smaller to make the drawers than the cabinet opening ( exactly one inch ) but it would be tough to figure out if you didn't know. The slides themselves work fine and appear to be well made. Lots of holes for screws makes mounting easy.
We bought these to replace broken slides on our daughter's dresser and they were very easy to install. All of the pieces arrived in good condition and on time. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the screws do stick out a bit which catches on the roller. We drilled it into the dresser as far as we could, but it still sticks out a bit farther than it should. For the price though, its not really a big deal and they fit perfectly so we didn't have to remeasure any drill holes.
These came straight and fine out of the box. Own an old wood desk were one of the drawer pulls had all but broken so replaced with these. Only wish they came in more colors than white. But function fine and screwed right in.
