I've used a number of keypad locks over the years and a couple of smart home locks. This lock is well built and responsive, it is designed to fit a couple of different deadbolt hole sizes/positions (two most common north american standards) and comes with a good installation guide (read it). I had no problems installing, although the deadbolt resizes for "deeper" holes and how it does that looked a little odd at first (it looked like the deadbolt was retracting too far) until I understood how it worked. The z-wave function was easy to install and setup and I have mine paired with a Samsung SmartThings Hub v3 with no issues and now incorporated into a lot of routines with door sensors and proximity sensors. Setting codes is straight forward. I find the keypad a little odd since it is a flat surface and needs to be "palm" touched before lighting up and activating, but once you get used to it you are fine. It does NOT have number randomization, so a lock that gets heavy use may eventually show the key code numbers through wear on the display, but for a garage lock like I am using it this isn't really a concern for me. I'm quite happy with the look and build quality.
As expected the product is a high quality one. Very good protection against rain and freeze. The installation instructions are very good but installation on a door already installed with a regular lock is a bit cumbersome. If you have carpenter talent's and tools, you can install it easily. If not, you have to hire a specialist to install the new lock. Last things : This lock doesn't have a regular key lock just a keypad. Also, this model doesn't have Bluetooth to unlock the door with your phone. But if you purchase the SmartThings Samsung hub, you can lock and unlock the door with your phone and an Internet connection.
Keys? We don't need no stinking keys (badges - think Blazing Saddles). Numeric keypad/deadbolt solutions are elegant. Lost key issues are a thing of the past. The only down side experienced was that the lock is not accessible by iPhone, but maybe that is a good thing from the point of potential hacking, or phone theft. Buy it.
I purchased this on clearance for $150. For that price it is worth it. It can be a little tricky to wake it up as your hand needs to cover the pad to wake it up. Not as intuitive for some people. I have another Yale with physical buttons that is a lot easier to use.
