I have had these headphones for just over a year now, so here is a long term view. Disclaimer, this is my first pair of wireless ear buds so I have no other reference point.
The Good: Convenience is high, they worked great at the gym with no wires getting tangled, they seem to be impervious to sweat, and the battery life is excellent still after a year.
The Mediocre: Sound is okay, not great, not bad...just okay, and I am not an audiophile. Noise cancellation is odd, I don't know how else to describe it. If you are expecting to have ambient sound cut and enjoy your music in peace, that will not happen. It will be reduced in an odd sounding way but the sounds will still be there. I tried a few times to use them while travelling and they did not work well on planes as far as noise cancellation.
The Bad: I did find when using them to talk on the phone you have to sit perfectly still and not do anything else, as the microphone seems to pick up ambient sounds over your voice deafening the person on the other end of the phone.
The More Badder: About a month after the warranty was up the left side started crackling and cutting out. They were not dropped, submerged or otherwise abused. Customer service was unhelpful and didn't bother to read the ticket I submitted, following their standard script and trying to get me to try the things I had already done and specified I had done in the support request. This is a pet peeve for me, so your mileage with customer service may vary. Come to think of it, electronics dying a month or two after the warranty is up is also a pet peeve and it happens way more than it should. Customer service was effective in the sense that I didn't want to talk to them anymore, so I guess that is a win for them?
Overall I don't think I would recommend but I don't know if there is better out there.
The sound quality was decent. However they were difficult to fit, even though i tried on all the tips, maybe it’s just my ears. But they would fall out even after walking a few meters, if I worked out they would easily fall out. Also if i wanted to lay in bed on my side with these on, it was impossible they stick out and hurt your ears laying on your side.
The worst thing about headphone which have silicone based ear tips is that they pain and fall off small ears easily. the same happened to me. The sound is great like really great and the microphones are really good but the fit is a problem.
I currently am in Afghanistan serving as a contractor. I've been here for almost a year now and I recently purchased these after losing my Bose Soundsport. Within a week, I experienced static coming from the left earbud at higher volumes. As many people have stated on this page, this is a common problem with the headphones. After a week, I dropped the headphones in the case once. The case still charges, but the earbuds do not pair after pulling out of the case and placing in the ears anymore. I wouldn't even call the drop I had a significant drop as they fell from my waist to the ground. Now the earbuds barely charge and just act "wonky". In my honest opinion, I should have just purchased some of the Bose Soundsports again, as they provided me a flawless 6 months of no problems, except for the sticker on the side of the earbuds coming off from use while sleeping.
Since I'm in Afghanistan, in a remote area where we do not have regular mail services, I cannot ship these back.
I will say these were relatively comfortable but besides that I was disappointed with the sounds quality, the craftsmanship, and the reliability of the device. First and last purchase with Jabra unfortunately. Took me $180 to figure it out, oh well.
When trying to talk on the phone with these, not only can the other person not hear me very well, they can hear the ambient noise much better. The mics for ambience seem to be better for picking up ambiance than the voice mic for talking. Very dissapointed.
Music on these are nice. But again, terrible for taking calls. Changing the settings does nothing to help. These are my second pair as I was hoping it was a bad pair. These are going back as well.
For what I bought it for it failed on 2 out of 3. First what it did well. 1 Sound is acceptable. Not as good as my H800 but acceptable. 2 Charging case is nice and I like the way it secures and can only be opened by pressing the sides. 3. reasonably comfortable. Although extended wear may change my mind. 4. For travel I do on a plane, it works well with my phone and I am looking forward to that.
Why it fails: 1. The big reason for this was the multi connect capabilities. Using it to listen to music on the computer and meetings and have it auto switch to phone for calls. It doesn't do this well. I was on a phone call and it kept repeating 2 devices connected/disconnected during my call. I don't think the other person heard it, but it repeated it over and over. Terrible. I finally had to turn off the bluetooth on the computer to make it stop.
Consequently, I will not use it to replace my Jabra Supreme for phone calls and it is absurd that I need to carry two devices.
