I have used D-Link cameras for years, with great success. But this camera was a severe disappointment. First, the advertisements claim that it can continuously record to a SD card. It can not. It can only respond to motion events. To make matters worse, this camera does not recognize motion events properly. If a cloud blocks the sun changing overall light levels, that will trigger an event. But if a person walks right in front of the camera, that does NOT trigger motion. Tried all motion sensitivity settings, but to no avail. D-Link technical support was no help. There is no direct web interface to this camera where an experienced user can setup useful options. There is just a lame, confusing phone app to control it. On the plus side, the real time viewing works good with good image quality. But the recording features are unusable.
Pretty disappointed with this entry from D-link cameras. I have been mostly happy with previous D-link cameras. Supposed to with with Alexa echo show. When I asked to show camera it buffers and buffers and buffers. I have to unplug echo show and plug back in then it work that time. Later same thing buffers etc. Does not work with previous d-link apps. Bought sad card to record and won’t format and therefore is useless to record( almost makes me think d-link is forcing me to subscribe to their cloud recording service which I will never do Cannot get it to come online to my IP CAM SOFT to watch on my Apple TV as i can on my other d-link cameras. Will not come online to Ispy on my laptop like my other d-link cameras So pretty much useless to me
Bought this because I had an earlier Dlink camera. This worked well for a few days then began to go offline frequently. Eventually, it just stopped working. Trying to get technical support from Dlink and the number provided was useless. Returned it to Amazon. Don't waste your money on this product.
Whew where do I begin. It worked for a few weeks but I have been on the phone with dlink more than the camera records. I wish I could say for the price it was worth it however that IS NOT the case. Buy something else.
All features were great, but quit working after 3 months in March. I contacted Cust Serv then, but no response since then; tried again in October for help but no contact after a week. So unless I get help soon, I can not reccomend, only because of the poor service. Perhaps they know it is poor product.
D-Link should remove this feature from this camera specifications or fix "mydlink Camera" Skill ASAP. It does not work with Alexa (Echo Show 5 - https://amzn.to/2KV5Y2O), as it keeps trying to connect, but never get an image or video from camera. The camera itself, without Alexa feature, could be 5 stars. But, D-Link must do its homework.

This D-Link HD WiFi Indoor Security Camera is easy to set up and linked to my home network readily with a quick scan of the QR Code on the back of the device. I have several cameras of this type, and this seemed equally well made in build as well as video quality. That's were the honeymoon ended. The D-Link app "mydlink" is unnecessarily complicated with 4 scroll through screens and 15 separate option buttons for different devices, automation options, scheduling, various pre-coded events such as "Away," "Wake-Up," Panic," "My Tap," "One Tap," "Automation," etc... several of these different balloons on the 4 pages are somewhat duplicative, and most need to be programmed individually, which often brings you back to Automation. It's also difficult to know which event balloon takes precedence when overlapping- Wake up or Scheduling?- or why I can't get video clips consistently (vs. written notifications only).
I believe this app is trying to do too much, and is meant to become an all-in-one smart home system, where you can add their smart plugs, sensors and more cameras and coordinate a response for all items, but I can't even get the one camera to work effectively, consistently or easily, much less wanting to add more of their devices onto this system... I have used and/or am currently using about 7 different companys' alarm / camera systems, and this one is by far the most difficult and non-intuitive system I have encountered. I cannot recommend it due to the clunky interface, despite what appears to be high quality camera hardware, and because I am not getting consistent alarm events, notifications or video, despite fooling around w all their settings, to include scheduling, automation, and high motion sensitivity. They do provide a generous free cloud recording service trial until the end of this year (about 6 mo), before you need to pay, so there is that, but then again, all but one of the security camera systems I have (not including this D-Link) allow at least 1 day of free recording to their cloud if they have a cloud option. Unfortunately, I think this needs some more software beta testing w a sample (non-D-Link or Vine) audience prior to prime time.
