My bath has an ever so slightly curved base which may explain why the Stop Shroom didn't create a seal with a shallow amount of water when I tested it. Could be that if I filled the bath with a large amount of water it may increase the pressure on the seal to make it watertight so I may try a fuller bath. But a little disappointed first test failed.
If you're looking for an expensive cup for your kids to play with in the bath then this is for you! If you're looking for something to stop your toddler draining all the bathwater by accidentally/deliberately sitting on the pop-up plug look elsewhere. Doesn't suction well and the single sucker on a tab to keep it in place is far too tempting for children to pull. Two stars as has become favourite bath toy, even if otherwise completely useless.
Shroomstop/Tub Stopper the little black stopper with the knob on top. It looks like it'd work great but the rubber is too hard so it ends up just sitting on the drain and not suctioning in. If the rubber was softer and more flexible I think it'd work great. Any movement and it just moves out of the drain. I give it 2 stars because it works if you twist it hard into the drain, hold it in place while running the water so the water doesn't move it and then make sure you don't touch it the water did stay in the sink/tub. I wouldn't recommend this drain plug.
Well this was a waste of money and plastic. We need more of that in landfill, don't we? I bought this to block off the overflow drain when I'm having a bath. It fits over the drain, but it leaks, so you get to listen to the sound of leaking water while trying to relax in your bath. The sound doesn't last long though, because within minutes your water level is just where it would be if you weren't using anything to cover the drain at all. Pointless. I feel too guilty to throw it out, so I guess I'll keep it in case we ever have a leaky sink drain or something, but it sure doesn't work to block a bathtub overflow (or not the one on my tub anyway).
My kids hate this because it’s constantly draining a little water and they don’t like that noise. It needs repeated adjusting. I hate it too honestly. And now the tub shroom is useless because I have to find a different plug for bath time and then what? Put the shroom in for draining? Annoying. Not impressed.
Bought this to use over broken drain stop in sink. Did not work at all. Dome is hard plastic and does not suction to the surface below at all. Requires a lot of water weight over it to hold it down. If you’re using it on a drain on a double sink, the pressure from the drain beside is enough to break the “suction” and allow water to drain. I was expecting better performance so I returned item
I bought the tubshroom but due to some cross bars in the drain pipe it does not fit properly. That is fine the shroom still works. So I bought this to plug the tub but because the shroom sits so high I can't use them together. I tried filling the tub and as long as the water is running the tub will fill up but as soon as the water is turned off there isn't enough suction to keep the water in, you can hear it draining. I will try again but so far not happy and will probably just get a proper stopper.
