Okay first of all these are some of the best headphones I've ever owned, it's really portable, great battery life, outstanding water resistance that gives me great piece of mind (considering my last pair broke from water damage) and great sound quality. But it is held back from a few key issues I would call deal breakers and ultimately why I've decided I might return my pair and search for something else.
First key issue, no wireless charging. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal to most people but I like to live a wireless lifestyle and for a pair of earbuds to cost almost $300 and not have wireless charging from the gecko is hard to stomach.
Second issue is probably the main reason I'm returning my pair, the right bud is periodically releasing a hissing sound that sounds like soft static, I just noticed it and can't unnotice it and from doing a quick search it seems to be a common problem from the latest Jabra elites. No software update has fixed it thus far.
Third issue is probably me beating a dead horse but these suckers are too damn expensive. I know saying that seems stupid considering how much these headphones offer but when you take into account these don't have wireless charging, experience white noise/ static issues in one earbud of the two, and have some questionable controls then just doesn't seem worth the money.
Just got the Elite Active 75T earbuds yesterday and tried it for the first time for a quick workout today. Every-time I am laying down on a side, I lose the sound from either the left but or right bud depending on the side. Updates were done and it sounds like it is a hardware issue. Also sometimes if my shoulder gets too close to the right earbuds I lose connection to my phone. I upgraded from an Elite Active 65T and never had these problems.
Non-stop hissing on calls along with static. Had the same issue with the regular 75T model as well. Did not have this issue on the 65T EA that I upgraded from. Yes, I've done all the firmware updates and the language downloads as suggested on reddit. Makes no difference. Will be returning. For $250 this is ridiculous.
The left earbud had lot of problems to get connected to the right one. Theses earbuds don’t work independently, so it was literally a nightmare to get both connected. I asked to send a replacement, to give a second chance to the product. The second pair arrive and didn’t have the connectivity problem but the left earbud literally died in less than a week. I returned the product.
I like: - Sound quality - Case shape: works great, can be put vertically, is compact, looks nice and opening/closing is very satisfying - Earbud shape: It's not super obvious how to stick it in your ears at first but you get used to it very fast. They are small and fit so well in my ears, I barely ever have to fix them. - Jabra software is of a decent quality, lots of customizations.
dislikes: - Hear-through isn't great. - On calls you will annoy people with wind and cars passing by, there is not machine learning to mute all these noises. - Only the right earbud can run standalone unfortunately.
I ordered them to work at home, my signal gets dropped a lot. When I asked why, buried in the small print it says "this product is not optimized to work with computers." They recommended a bluetooth dongle that costs another $110. For $300 I'd expect a product to work with any bluetooth connection.
The battery life is uneven too.
Pros: they're good for running and smartphones. But don't get them for any other purpose.
I was waiting for quite some time to find the perfect earbud, and I finally found them. I had troubels with the apple Airpods, they used to fall all the time. I really wanted to test this, so i went and did an intense work out. Including, jumping ropes, pushups, pull ups, and inclined treadmill sprints(HIIT). At the beginning i couldn't believe it, but the earbud did not fall a single time. Secondly, i used it at the steam room. I did 3 cycles of steam each was followed by a cold shower (just cold water). Earbuds are working fine, last test i want to do but im scared is the pool. I know it might not work in the pool but in some articles it says they can, so might wait on this one. Conclusion, great product, fits perfectly, sound is amazing, you can connect to multiple devices, and its water proof. what are you waiting for lol
I swear i wasnt paid for this review, just a happy customer.
I gave these a thorough 3-day trial before I gave up and returned them. B+ for effort, Jabra.
Good: - build quality (definitely a huge step up from the fall-apart-for-no-reason $30 generic 'true wireless buds' I've tried) - battery life - sound quality, given a little EQ tweaking (a little boomy out of the box) - app & features, My Sound in particular makes a real difference in apparent sound quality - ease of pairing & simultaneous multi-device support - comfort (I'd say 7/10, not bad for my sensitive ears)
Bad: - Connection reliability (with latest firmware as of 7/23/2020) ... This was the ultimate deal-breaker. Sitting <2ft from my Mac, momentary glitches would happen often enough to be annoying. Outside, it's impossible to go for a walk without briefly losing connection every few minutes. Forget about focussed listening. - The included 'large' tips were not large enough to get a good seal - Not as comfortable as the aforementioned $30 generic buds (8/10) - Volume lowered in call mode, with a jarring return to music volume
I had to fashion my own tips as follows: 1More large (14mm) silicones + inner sleeve from a set of donor tips to get a tight fit – this setup *just* fit in the charging case and was reasonably comfortable to wear, but why can't Jabra include a bigger range of tips to begin with?
Do any bluetooth headphones stay connected reliably enough to forget they are wireless? So far, for me, *NO*. The closest to perfect in terms of connection reliability: Sony WH-CH700N (which are of course a different type of headphone).
